How Grid works

Four puzzles on one grid, played back to back, once a day. Everyone gets the same puzzle on the same day, and the clock runs from the moment you tap Play until the last grid clears. That single run is your time for the day.

Common questions

I can't finish today's run — can I start over?

No, and that's deliberate. One run a day is the whole point of Grid; if you could retry, a time would mean nothing. Your progress is saved as you go, so closing the tab and coming back resumes where you left off rather than restarting.

My sign-in email never arrived

Check spam first. The link is single-use and expires, so if you request a second one the first stops working — use the most recent email. If nothing arrives at all, the address may have a typo; open the profile sheet and try again.

Why does my friend have a different puzzle?

They shouldn't. Days roll over at midnight UTC, not local midnight, specifically so that everyone worldwide is on the same puzzle at the same time. If you genuinely see different boards on the same date, email us — that's a bug worth knowing about.

I used a hint. Does that affect my time?

Your time is unchanged, but the hint is recorded: it shows on your result, it's included when you share, and it makes that run ineligible for the speed and clean badges. A time set with help isn't the same result.

How do I delete my account?

Open the profile sheet, scroll to Danger zone, and choose Delete account. It removes your account, results, streak, badges and friend connections immediately and cannot be undone.

Can I play offline?

Yes. Once Grid has loaded once it keeps working with no network, and anything you finish offline syncs the next time you're connected.
